Come as you are.

Welcome in advance to Hope Community. We are a collection of people seeking to love one another and love our neighbours, longing to grow into a more authentic community, and to offer real hope to our world. We pray you will develop several significant friendships among us and find a sense of belonging that’s rooted in God’s incredible hospitality.

What to expect

Parking
There’s parking all around our building, with handicapped spaces right at the front entrance, and overflow on the gravel areas behind the building and street parking on Cambridge Glen Drive.

Welcome Team
Don’t be alarmed if someone shakes your hand - they might even open the door for you. These friendly volunteers have fancy name-tags and a desire for you to know that we have a welcoming God and to make sure you know someone at Hope cares about them.

Welcome Desk
It is our aim for people at Hope Community to be fully aware of the many minstries and opportunities we have among us. The Welcome Desk (in the middle of the lobby) hosts information for all areas of Hope, including blue cards for newcomers to fill out if you wish, to invite contact from a pastor and get connected.

Hope Café
As a part of aiming for hospitality, we have amazing coffee, teas and lattes available for all, for free. Head to the right as you enter the lobby.

Name Tags
Usually on Sundays name tag stickers are spread on tables in the lobby. Scribble your moniker on one and slap it on. This is one way for all of us at Hope to put names to faces and build friendships.

Library Resource Centre
Visit the shelves in the front of the lobby on Sunday mornings. There’s a range of books and other publications intended to nurture your spirit.

Nursery
Nursery care is provided Sunday mornings for children 2 years of age and younger. The Nursery room is available for parents and little ones to the left off the lobby. Nursing moms are welcome anytime - this room has comfy chairs, a glider, a crib, and a diaper-changing area. Read more…

Treehouse
Treehouse is a preschool program provided during Sunday mornings. Geared for children 2 - 5 years old, Treehouse has songs, play time, learning and snacks.  In the Children’s Wing, to the left from the lobby. Read more…

Children’s Sunday Morning

Meeting on Sunday morning at 10:00 am. This children’s time of relationships and teaching is provided for kindergarten through grade 6.  Kids can look forward to music, games, video, Bible teaching and small groups. In the Children’s Wing, to the left from the lobby. Read more…

Special Needs
We have a program set up to accommodate those children with special needs. We offer one-to-one care and other modifications as needed.  Please call the church for more information on this program.

Paging System
Upon checking in your child with an identification sticker, you will keep the parent’s slip with a number for your child. That number will be shown on the screen in the worship space to alert you during the service if your child needs you.

Kids in Service
We love having kids be a part of our worship gatherings. There are “Experiencing Worship” boxes for kids at the back sides of the worship space.

Youth Sunday School
A chance for Jr. & Sr. High students to dig deeper into God’s Word (the Bible) and explore how we, as Jesus’ followers, can live out our faith where we live. Sunday mornings @ 10:00 am in the Youth Wing, through the hallway off the right side of the lobby.

Family Areas
During the summer we usually inflate our kids’ bouncer & slide on the front lawn before and after services. All year long the Youth Wing has ping-pong, air hockey, foos-ball, and a pool table available before and after services.

Adult Spiritual Formation
Occasionally we host adult spiritual formation classes on Sunday mornings, usually in the form of small groups that meet then. See our Life Groups page for more info.

Worship

Communion
Communion is receieved every first Sunday of the month at Hope, as part of our worship service. The bread and grape juice symbolize Christ’s body broken: the blood and body of Christ who died for us. If you are a Christ follower, we encourage you to partake. Children not yet old enough to take communion are welcome to join their parents at the back centre communion station where grapes and crackers are available for kids. Read more…

Prayer
After the service there are people available to pray with you. Ask a pastor or one of our Welcome Team if you would like this ministry. There is also a prayer room off the right side of the worship space.

Giving
Giving joyfully & sacrificially is a part of our worship service every Sunday. As a visitor who does not yet call Hope Community your church home, please do not feel obligated to give.

Serve with Hope Community
To serve is to follow Christ, who didn’t come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many (Matt 20:28). If you are looking for ways to serve at Hope, find a “Connect” brochure on the Welcome Table which details our different ministries and how to begin serving, or talk to one of our pastors, or click here.

Membership
Membership at Hope is a stated commitment that we are living in community together and seeking to embody unity in our beliefs, values, and mission of Hope Community, through expressions of love and service. To become a member of Hope, it is necessary to attend the Membership Seminar, meet with a couple members of Hope’s leadership Council, then be affirmed at a congregational meeting. Read more…
