West Ed Trip 2007

Students at Hope

The West Edmonton Mall trip is on!  Grades 7 - 9.  Feb 22 - 24, 2012.  Click here to print the registration form.  Early bird registration deadline is Feb 7.

Student Ministries at Hope Community encompass a wide range of activities. From regular social events and opportunities to just hang together, to retreats and leadership training, we look to create an environment that is accepting, safe and fun. Our approach to youth ministry is relationally based and Bible centered, stressing both outreach and spiritual growth.

Under the guidance of Interim Youth Pastor Corinne Stoter, we work toward regular family and intergenerational involvement with strong young adult leadership. With fooze ball, pool, air hockey, ping pong and couches, our youth wing on the northwest side of the building provides a great home for Hope Student Ministries.

At the heart of who we are is a desire to build strong relationships among our youth and between them and God.

The List

Plugged In  Tuesday nights at 7 pm we will gather at the church for an evening focused on fellowship, discussion, study and reflection.  We hope to learn together and grow in our relationships with God.  Students should come with their Bibles.  Click here to get the homework questions

Jr. High Schmooze  Thursdays after school until 5:00 pm Jr. High students gather at the church for a relaxed time of games, fun, a brief time of teaching, and an opportunity to hang out together.

Sunday School  Sunday School takes place every week at 10 AM in the youth room.  It is a time for interactive teaching and conversation, focused on where God is at work, what God might be asking of us, and learning more about God’s heart for this world and the people in it.

Friday Night Events are all about fun!  We recognize that after a long week at school, our students need space to kick back and be goofy.  Friday nights are also a great way for leaders to connect with students, and the friends that they bring along.  We aim to do Friday night events twice monthly.

Retreats & Other Special Events these events are planned throughout the year as special and unique opportunities for Jr. & Sr. High students to have separate experiences, more geared to their own age groups.  They’re always significant, fun and greatly anticipated by our students.  Some examples of these are Fall Retreat at Covenant Bay Bible Camp (Sr. High); Ski Trip (Sr. High); West Edmonton Mall Trip (Jr. High)

Permission Forms  New to youth this year - Signed permission forms for each student attending an off site event will be required.  Forms are available at the church or can be printed here.  Completed forms must be handed in prior to the event.  Students will not be permitted to attend off-site events without a signed permission form.  Regular events that take place at the church are exempt, and do not require a form.  If you have any questions, please talk to Pastor Corinne.
