Corinne Stoter’s Bio:
I was born in Calgary into a loving, Christian family. At the age of 5 my family moved to Ontario, where I lived until the fall of 2000 when I moved back to Calgary to attend Rocky Mountain College. Having grown up in a Christian home, I have known Jesus my whole life, but it was probably when I was in grade 9 or 10 that I realized that my faith and my relationship with Jesus needed to be my own, not just that of my parents. I began intentionally walking with God at that point, and have lived to seek his will and serve him since that time. I graduated from Rocky Mountain College in 2003 with a Diploma in Christian Leadership. Two years ago, I began taking classes at Rocky again, with the goal of obtaining a BA in Youth Leadership
I began attending Hope in June of 2003, when I was looking for a new home, and at the advice of Linda Ray, who I had met through my work at Camp Chestermere. I moved to Strathmore in September of 2003, because it was the most affordable option to be close to my work at the time. In February of 2004 I joined Evan, the other youth leaders, and 115 teenagers on the annual West Edmonton Mall trip, and thus began my volunteer experience with Hope’s students. I have been volunteering and serving the youth ever since. In the 2008/2009 school year I also had the pleasure and privilege of doing an internship with Evan, which was a significant experience in my journey. Volunteering with the youth over the years has been extremely rewarding, as I have seen students begin their own faith journeys, learn to love Jesus, and share God’s love for with their friends and families. I have laughed and cried a lot over the years as I have witnessed the growth of our students, and I am excited about the idea of continuing to serve Hope’s students and families, as we journey together, striving to more clearly understand God’s desires for all of us, individually, but also as a community of Jesus.
