July Prayer Journey

Pray for:

  • God's Spirit to be preparing our new Pastor to answer the call to come to Hope Community

  • Wisdom and discernment and unity for the search team as we pray over the potential candidates

  • God's timing to unfold in God's way

  • For the people of Hope to walk through this time of transition with continuing grace and confidence in God's goodness toward us

July 1 - Father God, fill us with the knowledge of your will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that we might please you in every way and bear fruit in every good work.  (Colossians 1:9-10)

July 2 - I praise you this day, Lord, that you are Jehovah-Jireh (The Lord Will Provide), the One who knows us intimately and generously provides all we need.  We wait for your provision with expectancy! 

July 3 - Thank you that you go before us, God, preparing the way, making straight the path.  We submit to your leading and trust your direction. (Proverbs 3:6)

July 4 - I praise and honor you, Father, because You are a God who loves to answer prayer and who begins to answer even before I pray. (Isaiah 65:24)

July 5 - God of Wisdom give us your eyes to see clearly, that we might know your mind and your heart; pour out your wisdom upon your people as we wait for your guidance. (James 1:5)

July 6 - Your love is new every morning, great God of Light, and all day long you are working for good in the world.  Stir up in us a desire to serve you, willingly, sacrificially, and peacefully and to devote this day to your Son, our Savior, Jesus. (Lamentations 3:23)

July 7 - Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.  Give us the freedom of your Spirit to seek you with all our hearts and to choose your will above all else. (2 Corinthians 3:17)

July 8 - Lord help us to have a deep belief in your goodness. Reveal your goodness toward us in the ordinary, the mundane, and the beauty of creation this day.  (Psalm 145:1-7)

July 9 - We pray for the grace to be open to your will so that we might have the mind of Christ in all things. (1 Corinthians 2:16)

July 10 - Thank you , Lord, that we can be confident that "he who began a good work in us will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." (Philippians 1:6)

July 11 - We wait for you, Lord.  We wait on you, Lord. Draw us to yourself, for in you we find grace and forgiveness, healing from all our brokenness, and deep shalom.  (Psalm 27)

July 12 - Thank you that you promise to instruct and teach us in the way we should go, that you will counsel us and lead us with your loving eye upon us.  (Psalm 32:9)

July 13 - Thank you for the gift of your Holy Spirit: comforter, teacher, counsellor, breath of life.  Pour out your spirit upon us this day, flooding our souls with streams of living water, that we might speak life to all we meet. (John 7:37-39)

July 14 - Lord, give us ears to hear you, eyes to see your fingerprints in our day, and a heart quickened by the motions of your Spirit, that you might be glorified in all that we are and all that we do.  (Matthew 13:16)

July 15 - O God of peace who has taught us that in returning and rest we shall be saved; in quietness and confidence shall be our strength,  By the power of your Spirit open us, we pray, to your presence, where we may be still, and know that you are God.  (Isaiah 30:15)

July 16 - O God, where there is falseness, smother it by your truth.  Where there is any coldness, kindle it with your love,  Where there is joy and hope, free us to share it together, and make us one as you are one. (John 17:11-22)

July 17 - Lord, help us never to forget that mercy, peace and love are your greatest gifts, given to us to offer to one another as we see in them Jesus Christ, who alone is our joy, our way, our truth, and our life.  (Jude 1:2)

July 18 - Heavenly Father, may your kingdom come, may your will be done here on earth, here at Hope Community, just as it is in heaven. (Luke 11:2-4)

July 19 - Be anxious about nothing, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.  (Philippians 4:6-7)

July 20 - God, our Father, give us the wisdom of Your Spirit so that we can see the shape of your plan in the gifts you have given us and in the circumstances of our daily lives.  (James 1:5)

July 21 - Good Shepherd, you lead us by your loving hand, and we proclaim that you are our salvation.  Reign in our hearts this day as we seek to follow you in all things.   (Psalm 23)

July 22 - "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." Lord, we place our trust in you as we look to the future.  (Jeremiah 29:11)

July 23 - Good Father, continue your transforming work in us, that our lives might gradually become brighter and more beautiful as we seek your face.  (2 Corinthians 3:18)

July 24 - God, teach me to seek you, and reveal yourself to me when I see You.  For I cannot seek You unless you first teach me, nor find You unless You first reveal Yourself to me. (St Anselme of Canterbury)

July 25 - Give thanks to the Lord for He is good.  His love endures forever!  Thank you for your unfailing love, for your kindness, your always open arms.  Remind us to run to you before all others.  (Psalm 118:1,29)

July 26 - I would be silent now, Lord and expectant...that I may receive the gift I need, so I may become the gift others need. (Ted Loder  Matthew 7:11)

July 27 - Light of the World, let your light shine through us this day, dispelling darkness and bringing hope, that the world might see your kindness and be drawn to your kingdom.  (Matthew 5:14)

July 28 - I ask for Jesus Christ, the God of glory, to make you intelligent and discerning in knowing him personally, your eyes focused and clear, so that you can see exactly what it is he is calling you to do, that you might grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life he has for his followers!  (Ephesians 1:18 - The Message)

July 29 - May our love abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that we might be able to discern what is best and may be filled with the fruit of righteousness that come through Jesus Christ.  (Philippians 1:9-11)

July 30 - O Lord, show us how to act justly, how to love mercy, and how to walk humbly with you, our God.  (Micah 6:8)

July 31 - "Now faith is the confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."  Increase our faith, Lord, that we might trust in your plans and experience your kindness.  (Hebrews 11:1)
